Hello! My name is Ariana and I am an undergraduate student at Queen’s University working toward a BScH with a major in Psychology and a minor in Life Science. When I’m not doing schoolwork I like to do Sudoku puzzles, draw, paint, and enjoy quality time with family and friends (and my dog!). In the summers I spend as much time as I can at my cottage where I can immerse myself in the outdoors and relax by the lake. When time permits I am also an avid reader! I am currently reading, and recommend, The Lucifer Effect: How Good People Turn Evil by Philip Zimbardo, who famously ran the Stanford Prison Experiment in 1971.

My research interests include the fields of cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychology, and clinical psychology. I hope in the future these interests can translate into research investigating the deregulation of neural circuits involved psychological disorders. I think it would be interesting to bring a developmental aspect to this research as well by looking into how neural circuits implicated in specific psychological disorders change during puberty. I also find the emerging subject of how cannabis consumption may impact neural and cognitive functioning to be fascinating and I would love to eventually contribute to the scientific literature on this topic!
